Real dried Scarlet Pimpernel wild flowers are captured in a crystal clear dome of resin to make enchanting springtime earring studs.
Spring is my favourite time of year as wild flowers start to bloom along the field edges near our home in Lincolnshire. Scarlet pimpernel is also known as "the poorman's barometer" or "shepherd's weather-glass" as the tiny orange and pink petals can be seen to close up tightly if the weather cools.
The crystal clear resin dome allows the light to shine through and magnifies the bright pink petals with yellow centres within. These studs are 1 cm wide and are supported with sterling silver posts and secured with sterling silver butterfly backs.
These natural botanical scarlet pimpernel earrings make an ideal gift for a gardener, anyone inspired by the magic of Spring or for someone who just loves nature and being outdoors.
Each tiny stud may contain miniature bubbles which are a natural part of the resin casting process.
