I've always been a little obsessed with vintage maps and rather than leave them stuffed in drawers, like to upcycle and repurpose them into usable items. This pair of cabinet or drawer knob pulls feature a beautiful vintage map piece taken from the 1950's edition of The Daily Telegraph World Map with focus on London and Paris, Europe.
I have sealed each piece of map in glass-like clear bio resin and sits in a brushed silver pull. The knobs are 3.3 cm wide across the front and 2.3 cm deep and has a screw for the back which is 3 cm long.
The crystal clear, eco-friendly resin I use has a lower carbon footprint and reduced power and water consumption, helping to lessen the environmental impact of my work. Greenhouse gas emissions and harmful byproducts have been curbed by replacing some of the petroleum-based components with bio-based renewable materials and waste byproducts of other bio-refining processes.
