Pair of rustic earrings created from an old tin, destined for landfill that feature a delicate blue and yellow petal with leaf design and labradorite stone beads.
From my collection of vintage tins, picked up from flea markets, vintage shops and car boot sales, I've upcycled a rather battered Huntley & Palmers biscuit tin in order to turn the beautiful illustrations into earrings. The chintz design on this tin, from the British makers of biscuits since 1822, was a beautiful Chinese inspired painting featuring blue birds, dragons and pretty trees and flowers.
For these dangly yet dainty earrings, I have repurposed the leaf motif and cut it into a teardrop shape with a circular cut disc featuring blue and yellow flowers attached with an infinity loop. They are paired with grey labradorate multi-facted stone beads and fire polished Czech glass beads. They sit on sterling silver earring wires. An enchanting gift for anyone who is fond of nature or who may be celebrating their 10th Wedding anniversary.
As you can imagine, this tin is many years old and each panel has been cleaned carefully and sanded to remove sharp edges. The reverse of the assemblage earrings are rustic as in keeping with the age of the artifact used. They measure 5 cm from the top of the kidney wire to the base of the earring.
